5. Web Analytics with Matomo

Scope of Data Processing

This website uses Matomo (formerly Piwik), an open-source software for statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo is operated on our own server; data is not shared with third parties.

Matomo is configured so that no cookies are set. There is no persistent identification of users across sessions. The following data is processed on each page visit:

  • Truncated IP address (last octet is anonymised before storage)
  • Page visited (URL) and referrer URL
  • Date and time of access
  • Browser, operating system and screen resolution (anonymised)

Legal Basis

Processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest is to statistically evaluate the use of our website in order to improve our offering. Since no cookies are set, no persistent user ID is assigned and the IP address is anonymised, no opt-out is required. The analysis is entirely limited to our own infrastructure.

Right to Object

You can object to data collection by Matomo by disabling the sending of the referrer in your browser, disabling JavaScript, or setting a Do-Not-Track header. Matomo respects the Do-Not-Track header (DNT: 1); in this case no data is collected.

6. External Services

Fonts (Local Hosting)

This site uses locally stored web fonts (Manrope) for consistent font rendering. The font files are served exclusively from our own server. No connection to external servers takes place.

Sentry (Error Tracking)

To monitor the technical stability of our services, we use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc. dba Sentry, 45 Fremont Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA). Sentry automatically captures technical error messages and stack traces when an error occurs during the operation of the website or API, along with runtime environment information (browser and operating system version).

We have configured Sentry so that no personal data is transmitted: IP addresses, request headers and user information are explicitly not forwarded. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring stable and error-free operation). For more information, please refer to Sentry's privacy policy.

Amazon SES (Email Delivery)

For sending transactional emails (confirmation and notification emails after the contact form is submitted), we use Amazon SES (Amazon Simple Email Service) provided by Amazon Web Services, Inc. For this purpose, your name, email address and message content are transmitted to Amazon SES to the extent necessary for sending the email. Dispatch takes place exclusively via the Europe (Frankfurt, eu-central-1) region, so that processing occurs within the European Union. A data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Amazon Web Services.

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in reliable communication). For more information, please refer to the privacy policy of Amazon Web Services.
